Next Event...

Every May a couple of us participate in the Master Gardener's Show here at the Clackamas County Fairgrounds in Canby, Oregon. We'll be there again next year.

27th Annual Master Gardener's Spring Show
May 1-2, 2010
Clackamas County Fairgrounds

If you want to find us we're listed under Leaf Prints and are in space H21, which is right in the center of things outside.

We'll feature outdoor plants including succulents, lavender, and (if they're in bloom) iris & columbine. We'll also have a wide variety of lavender products and recycled outdoor art.

Apology for Not Keeping Blog Up to Date

It's been a very hectic year and the 2009 Baker's Acres Bazaar has come and gone... I apologize for not keeping this blog up to date this year. I'll do better this coming year, that's for sure.

So to start off, we had a successful bazaar. The wind didn't blow anything away, and it only really rained one afternoon. Always a chancy thing here in northwest Oregon.

I'll have photos soon - we took a few. In the meantime, check out the blog, Running with Rocket, kept up by one of our vendors.

As expected with the economy the way it is, sales did not increase from last year. But, we had great attendance it's just that customers were spending less. All in all, a good time was had by all.

Please join us next year - we'd love to see you.

Time to Start Advertising This Year's Bazaar

The economy won't keep us down. Last year's bazaar was our best ever with record sales and attendance. Around here, we're taking "BUY LOCAL" to heart.

We're putting our first web advertising up at:

Events across the US

a website that collects events across the US. Check it out -- maybe you'll see somewhere else you just have to go.

If you're interested in our 2009 Bakers Acres Holiday Bazaar, please contact us:

We'll have applications and more information posted once we get closer to summer.

Crocheted and Knitted Gifts

One of our most popular gift items is hand crocheted and knitted slippers. You'll also find other crocheted and knitted gift items such as this fun teddy bear, hotpads, gloves, and scarves. Also, felted purses are popular gift items.

Fresh or Dried Wreaths for the Holidays

Several vendors bring different styles of wreaths. In addition to the traditional fir wreaths (12", 18" and larger) we have pine cone, fabric, and floral wreaths to decorate for the holidays.

And there's always potted flowers for you to choose from, including paperwhites and Christmas cactus.

5th Annual Holiday Bazaar at Bakers Acres

Holiday Boutique Bazaar

2008 INFORMATION SHEET

WELCOME VENDORS
We are looking for vendors for our 5th annual holiday bazaar. We are committed to a quality hand-crafted show of local artisans and will make every attempt to prevent duplication of crafts. We are looking for craft items handmade by YOU. We currently are not looking for jewelry vendors but we are especially interested in outdoor items and bath and beauty products.

Last year, our three day bazaar was a success so we’re going to do it again and be open Thursday, Friday and Saturday, November 20 – 22, 2008, the weekend before Thanksgiving. Vendors will be able to bring merchandise Wednesday (19th) night between 4-7 pm to help set up items. Unsold items must be picked up Saturday (22nd) evening before 8 pm.

Signs help sell your crafts. Feel free to make signs detailing your crafts and bring them during setup. We will make every effort to use them to enhance your display. If you have a special display unit for your crafts, please bring it.

Each individual craft item must be priced with string tags or some kind of tag that can be cut off when purchasers check out. Please price your items with prices in 25-cent increments (no $1.99, but $2.00 or $1.75). No sticky tags. This is a boutique-style bazaar so not all of your items will be displayed together.

Vendor Fees: Before October 31st, a $35 non-refundable vendor fee

After November 1st, a $50 non-refundable vendor fee

PLUS a separate $50 refundable deposit returned upon completion of four (4) volunteer hours at the bazaar. Payment of vendor fee plus separate deposit are due with application. (All non-accepted application deposits will be refunded.)

In return, we will promote your Crafts and Art via newspaper ads, flyers, signage, postcards, press releases and the internet. As always, the best advertising is word of mouth by you, our vendors. We will have flyers and postcards available for you to send out to family, friends, and neighbors. Ask for more. The more you send out, the more people will attend the bazaar.

PLEASE READ THIS INFORMATION SHEET CAREFULLY and do not hesitate to contact us if you have additional questions concerning the bazaar.

Updated Vendor Information

Our application deadline was October 1st, but we have a couple spots still open.

We're especially looking for a bath products vendor. We also could possibly fit in candle products and sewing creations. Unfortunately, we cannot accept any more jewelry artists.

As always, your creations must be hand made by you. If you feel you have something unique to offer, please feel free to contact us at bakersacresbazaar@gmail.com. We'd love to hear from you and try to respond as promptly as possible.

From Our 2005 Bazaar

I thought I'd post some examples of the offerings from our 2005 bazaar. These vendors will be back this year.

The first is a flannel rag lap quilt. I bought one of these and I love, love, love it.

Another vendor made the embellished fabric frames.

Another popular item from last years bazaar was the oversized flannel baby blankets.
